YourHealthSecurity.org helped push major health care reform in 2010, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. It continues to give voice to consumers against deep-pocked health and insurance lobbyists with a call-to-action powered by Convio. This allows constituents to send emails to Congress online.

People may share their stories on the website or read hundreds of stories from around the county. The site was built as a team effort. I handled all the graphics and design, building a customized WordPress theme. The homepage features a SlideDeck slideshow on the homepage, and allows users to navigate content either by state or topic according to their interest. The site incorporates Convio-powered components such as Take Action forms and petitions and Share Your Story surveys. Stories are collected with a customized database that was built by another member of our team.

This site launched after the Cover America Tour ended in summer 2008: a grand tour of the county to gather personal stories from people about their experiences with health insurance, sponsored by Consumer Reports Health. Originally designed in Movable Type, we redesigned the site using WordPress in 2011.
